Iran has started producing 120-millimeter and 130-millimeter cannon and tank shells.
The 130-millimeter cannon shells are used most commonly in the armed forces, Iranian Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi was quoted as saying by the Irna news agency. Iran has already started producing the missiles, he said at the opening ceremony of a cannon shell production plant.
Dry fuel is used for 130-millimeter cannon rounds and field guns.
"Alongside launching the domestic production of these shells, the range of these missiles has increased 30 percent compared to conventional missiles," he said.
The 120-millimeter projectiles are provided for tanks and can hit armored targets.
"The power of the shell is so high that even if it bursts near an armored vehicles, it will cause damage and cause dizziness to the crew," the official said.
He added that such production technology is only available in the U.S. and the UK.
