Iranian president Hassan Rouhani said that Iran's authority should use religious minorities' capacity in the administration, Iranian state TV IRINN reported.

Rouhani made the remarks during the ceremony of presenting Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli as Iran's new Interior Minister.

He also went on to note that, national unity cannot be formed by slogans, but by actions. He also underscored that all ethnics in Iran have equal rights.

Iran's government does not belong to any ethnic group such as Fars or Turk, he said, adding that Iran administration includes all minorities.

"If we want security we should supply equal opportunities for all groups," Rouhani said.

During Hassan Rouhani's presidential campaign, the future president publicized a plan on the issue of the rights of the national and religious minorities in Iran, while emphasizing full compliance with the constitution in this matter and to allow the general involvement of national and religious minorities in all political and administrative levels of government, including membership in the cabinet of ministers.

Rouhani's plan also promised to change the security perspective on national minorities in Iran.
