The Georgian defense minister has called on his deputies. He has chosen three people at this stage, Irakli Alasania said at a press briefing.
They are Irakli Gegchkori, who previously worked at the Ministry of Defence, head of the Mikeladze Foundation diplomat Levan Mikeladze, and Alexander Burchuladze, who returned to Georgia from abroad.
Alasania added that negotiation with the Georgian President are held, who, as a commander in chief, appointed Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces. "We will have a new chief of the Joint Staff in the coming days," he said.
It should be noted that after the president's party lost the parliamentary elections, Mikheil
Saakashvili appointed Giorgi Kalandadze to this position.
Georgian Parliament approved the prime minister and new government on Oct.25. On the same day new Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili held the first meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers in Kutaisi, which discussed important issues.
