(Interfax) - The West's choice, either to recognize or not to recognize the independence of Kosovo, will be a test for their adherence to moral principles and the international law, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Vladimir Titov said.
"The choosing of further actions by our foreign partners, including on the issue of the recognition of the independence of Kosovo, will test their ability to make responsible decisions and to adhere to moral
principles and law in international relations," Titov told Interfax.
"The unilateral declaration of the Kosovo independence by Pristina is a serious challenge to the world order principles and international stability," he said.
"We are going to continue raising the issue of bringing the Kosovo settlement back into a legal framework not only within the framework of the UN Security Council, but also of other international organizations,
including the OSCE and the Council of Europe," Titov said.
Russia will activate dialogue channels with the EU and NATO, so as to "prove that their position is wrong," Titov said.
