The Azerbaijani education minister declared 2010 the Year of ICT Use in the Educational System.
Misir Mardanov said 500 more schools will be connected to the ministry's ICT Center and get the opportunity to connect to the Internet at a ceremony dedicated to a Microsoft competition for innovative teachers.
"We will introduce this system periodically in over 4,000 schools starting from the country's large cities," the minister said.
He said an ICT competition will also be announced in 2010.
