BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 25. Eni Plenitude reported a total volume of 2.56 bcm in retail and business gas sales in 1Q2024, Trend reports.

According to Eni's latest report, this marked a 12-percent decrease compared to the corresponding period in 2023 (2.91 bcm). Retail and business customers, encompassing both gas and electricity, totaled 10.1 million as of March 31, 2024, maintaining consistency with the figures reported on the same date in 2023.

This decline was primarily attributed to lower consumption, influenced by mild weather conditions, the company explained.

Similarly, retail and business power sales to end customers remained stable, amounting to 4.64 TWh in 1Q2024, aligning closely with the figures reported in 1Q2023 (4.62 TWh).

Eni also provided an update on its renewable energy capacity, reporting an installed capacity of 3 GW as of March 31, 2024. This marks an increase of approximately 0.7 GW compared to the same period in 2023, driven by acquisitions in the US and Spain, as well as organic development in Italy, Spain, Kazakhstan, and the UK.

Furthermore, energy production from renewable sources showed promising growth, with 1.11 TWh generated in 1Q2024, reflecting a 12-percent increase from 1Q2023 (0.99 TWh). This growth was attributed to positive asset performance and the expansion of operational capacity.

In line with its commitment to sustainable mobility, Eni reported a significant expansion of its EV charging infrastructure, with charging points totaling 19.6 thousand as of March 31, 2024, marking a notable 33 percent increase compared to the same period last year (14.7 thousand).
