Azerbaijan's money supply in national currency increases significantly over year

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 28. Azerbaijan's money supply in manat terms (M2) grew by 4 billion manat ($2.3 billion), or 13.31 percent year-on-year (from 30.3 billion ($17.8 billion) to 34.4 billion manat ($20.2 billion) as of June 1, 2024, Trend reports.

According to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), the cash supply in circulation (M0) increased by 1.4 billion manat ($823 million) (10.38 percent) over the year, from 13.9 billion ($8.1 billion) to 15.4 billion manat ($9 billion), while the broad money supply (M3) increased by 3.4 billion manat ($2 billion) (8.4 percent) to 44.8 billion manat ($26.3 billion) (against 41.3 billion manat ($24.3 billion) a year earlier).

However, the money supply for transactions (M1) increased by 2.3 billion manat ($1.3 billion) (9.01 percent) to 28 billion manat ($16.4 billion) from 25.7 billion manat ($15.1 billion).
