ASTANA, Kazakhstan, March 3. A biogas plant will be built in the Sayram district of the Turkestan region in Kazakhstan with the involvement of Turkish investors, Trend reports.
According to the instructions of the Akim (Governor) of the Turkistan region, Nuralkhan Kusherov, active negotiations with investors are ongoing to open new manufacturing enterprises in the region. As part of these talks, the Deputy Akim of the Turkistan region, Nurbul Turashbekov, met with investors from Turkey and discussed the implementation of new projects in detail.
Nurbul Turashbekov emphasized that agriculture is a priority in the Turkistan region, and local authorities will provide full support. He expressed readiness to establish business relations for the development of the agro-industrial complex.
During the meeting, Turkish investors presented their projects aimed at developing the agro-industrial sector and shared their plans. They intend to process animal waste to produce electricity and heat. Specifically, this year, a biogas plant based on green technologies is planned to be launched in the Sayram district of the Turkestan region. The project is expected to cost $40 million. The plant will produce 75 tons of organic-mineral fertilizers and 40 million kWh of electricity annually. After the plant's launch, more than 100 permanent jobs will be created.
This year, 22 investment projects totaling 74.3 billion tenge (approximately $148.6 million) are planned in the Sayram district. As a result, over 1,000 new jobs will be created.
