BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 8. Banks operating in Azerbaijan paid a total of 43.6 million manat ($25.6 million) in profit taxes from January through February 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan indicates that this figure represents an increase of 19.9 million manat ($11.7 million), or 84 percent, compared to January of this year.
Meanwhile, the country's banks paid 23.7 million manat ($13.9 million) in profit taxes in January 2025.
Additionally, the pre-tax profits of banks in Azerbaijan from January through February 2025 amounted to 223 million manat ($131.1 million), while net profits stood at 179.4 million manat ($105.5 million).
For reference, last year, banks in Azerbaijan paid a total of 294.3 million manat ($173.1 million) in profit taxes.
