BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 17. Azerbaijan produced chemical industry goods worth 931 million manat ($547.6 million) from January through April 2025, including pharmaceuticals, rubber, and plastic products.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Statistics Committee indicates
that the output of pharmaceutical formulations surged by 84.9
percent year-over-year, whereas the chemical sector exhibited a
growth trajectory of 13.1 percent, and the rubber and plastics
segment experienced an uptick of 4.7 percent.
Within the realm of chemical commodities, the output of coatings
and finishes experienced an uptick of 15.2 percent, while
polyethylene saw an elevation of 11.9 percent, ethylene advanced by
10.8 percent, and urea registered a modest increase of 2.7 percent.
Within the domain of elastomeric and polymeric goods, the output of
thermoplastic rods, shafts, and profiles surged by 41.2 percent;
the fabrication of plastic bottles, flasks, and analogous items
escalated by 38.4 percent; while the production of rigid
thermoplastic pipes, tubes, sleeves, and hoses experienced a modest
uptick of 3.0 percent. Conversely, the output of polyethylene bags
and sacks experienced a contraction of 29.1 percent.
