BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 18. Azerbaijan exported 571,000 tons of chemical products worth $174.4 million from January through June 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Customs Committee (SCC) indicates that this marks an increase of $47.7 million or 37.6 percent in value, and 41,800 tons or 7.9 percent in volume year-over-year. In the same period last year, Azerbaijan exported 529,200 tons of chemical products valued at $126.7 million.
Chemical exports accounted for 1.35 percent of Azerbaijan’s total exports and 9.94 percent of non-oil exports during the reporting period.
Azerbaijan conducted foreign trade operations worth $24.4 billion in the first half of the year, up by $2.63 billion or 12.1 percent compared to the same period in 2024. Exports totaled $12.8 billion, while imports reached $11.5 billion. While exports slightly declined by 0.2 percent year-over-year, imports rose by 29.9 percent.
Consequently, the country recorded a positive trade balance of $1.35 billion, which is $2.67 billion or nearly three times lower than the surplus registered in the same period a year earlier.
