Computerized Fuel Store for Locomotives Put into Operation in North of Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan, Astana, 1 December / corr Trend K.Konirova / A computerized fuel store was opened to fill up locomotives in Tobol station of Kostanay region (500km north of Astana), Trend correspondent in Astana reports.

Tobol station of Kostanay region is the remotest section of railway in north of the country and junction point, where such important strategic goods of Kazakhstan as grain and ores are exported in five directions.

"Goods turnover has recently increased dramatically following the construction of the Khromtau - Altinsarino railway section in Tobol station. We cannot cope without definite modernization of the process," Kadil Talaspekov, president of Locomotive joint stock company (JSC) told journalists at presentation of new project.

Reconstruction and modernization of the fuel store was implemented in full by TEK-Astana TOO in Tobol station. According to press service of KazakhstanTemirjoli national company, first of all, capacity of the store were increased. Now its reservoirs are prepared to contain to 5,000 cu m of diesel oil. Secondly, the process of diagnostics and refueling of locomotives was computerized completely.

"The system, installed in new point of equipping post, enables to implement accurate registration of delivery of oil products, fixing time, volume, weight, even temperature and density of diesel oil for each concrete locomotive," Talaspekov said.

Term of preparation of diesel locomotives for the road reduced almost by twice, taking into consideration the modernization. If earlier refueling of one locomotive took five hours earlier, presently, two or two and a half are enough," president of Locomotive JSC said.

For the time being, reconstruction of Tobol station is one of the first steps in improvement of work of trunk-railway.

"Stage-by-stage renewal of main funds of infrastructure of fuel complexes and bringing them into conformity with international standards will be done following the development of infrastructure," Talaspekov said.
