The Azerbaijan Risk Professionals Association (ARPA) determined new strategic directions of activities to improve risk-management potential in insurance and energy sectors, ARPA Chairman Rufat Mahmud said today
"At present we are in the process of searching partners in insurance sector. We have initial proposals," Mahmud said
In January- February ARPA plans to hold the first stages of workshops to study the problems on the insurance market and invite foreign experts to share with experience in this sector
ARPA has held similar trainings for banking sector up to now. At present leasing companies are interested in the workshops
The ARPA has also held meetings in the energy sector especially in the Energy and Industry Minitry and SOCAR.
SOCAR and Azerenerji has a great interest to create correct risk management models to increase specialists' qualification level, Mahmud added
Accroding to Mahmud, Azerbaijani energy sector can be on the top in the world, which will apply Energy Risk Professional (ERP) method of the Global Association of risk Professionals (GARP). This is a new system on a global scale
"ARPA is expected to hold round table to familiarize the companies with ERP," Mahmud said
The Association intends to invite these companies to be a member of the ARPA, which will allow the companies' specialists, at least, access to a wide field of knowledge in this area, participation in seminars, conferences, will provide "live" communication with professionals.

The ARPA has 100 members representing banking sector. ARPA can expand its rank through the national postal operator Azerpocht, who displays great interest in connection with access to the financial market.
ARPA was registered in May 2009 and is in process of institutional establishment by single founder Rufat Mahnmud
