Investments in Azerbaijani economy increase

About 7.704.5 million manat was invested in the economy of Azerbaijan in January-November of 2010, an increase of 15.2 percent from the figures of the previous year, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee reported.

Investments for repair and construction work made up 65.9 percent totaling 5.073.7 million manat. Investment for the construction of production facilities totaled 3.916.8 million manat, while non-production facilities totaled 3.787.7 million manat.

Foreign investments amounted to 1.834.8 million manat, increasing by 38 percent as compared to the same period of the last year. Their special weight made up 23.8 percent.

The special weight of internal investments made up 76.2 percent. Most (72.3 percent) of domestic investment is embedded in state-owned enterprises and entities, and only 27.7 percent - to private enterprise.

Of the total amount 67.9 percent were directed (5.231million manat) to the development of non-oil sector, 12.3 percent (949.5 million manat) - non-oil industrial sector, 32.1 percent (2.473.5  million manat) - oil sector.

About 44.4 percent of investments fell to industrial areas, 4.8 percent - agriculture, forestry and fishery, 2.8 percent - trade, 24.2 percent - transport, 1.5 percent - communications, 1.7 percent - health care, 1.3 percent - education, 10.5 percent - real estate transactions (of which 10.3 percent - housing), 1.6 percent - construction, 2.7 percent - sports, entertainment and culture, 2.9 percent - state management, 0.1 percent - financial and insurance activity, 2.2 percent - accommodation, 0.6 percent - administrative and support services and 0.5 percent - other spheres.

About 2.285.4 million of 3.549 million manat provided for 2010 were directed to the construction of facilities, funding of which is realized at the expense of budget funds.

Major sources of investing were funds of enterprises and organizations (4.089.6mln manat or 53.1 percent of the total amount of investments), bank credits (366mln manat, 4.8 percent), budget funds (2.444.8 million manat, 31.7 percent), non-budgetary funds (469.6mln manat, 6.1 percent), population's personal funds (323.3mln, 4.2 percent) and other funds (11.2mln, 0.1 percent).
