Uzbekistan plans budget deficit for 2013 in amount of one percent of GDP

Deficit of the state budget of Uzbekistan, according to the prepared draft of the government's main financial document, will amount to one percent of projected GDP, a source in government circles told Trend on Monday.

According to the source, the income of the state budget is planned in the amount of 21.3 per cent of GDP, expenditure - 22.3 percent.

As previously reported, the parameters of the state budget are designed taking into account the planned increase of GDP by 8 percent for 2013, industrial production - by 8.4 percent, agricultural production - by six percent, capital investment - by 9.3 percent.

More than 59 percent of the expenditure budget of the total budget expenditure will be allocated for social spending. In particular, the expenditures for education is planned to be in the amount of 7.62 per cent of GDP, for healthcare - 3.2 percent.

Expenditures for the economy accounts for 2.4 per cent of GDP, centralized investments financed from the state budget - 1.1 percent of GDP.

The draft budget is being considered in committees and factions of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majilis (lower house of parliament).

As previously reported, the state budget of Uzbekistan for 2012 was approved with a deficit of one percent of projected GDP, or 966.5 billion soum, the revenue in the amount of 21.1 percent of GDP (20 trillion 393.9 billion soum), and expenditures in the amount of 22.1 percent of GDP (21 trillion 360.4 billion soum).
