BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 4. Iran’s non-oil imports from Azerbaijan increased by 70 percent in value and 10.8 percent in volume, during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2023), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports.
As stated in the report of Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Iran imported 9,920 tons of goods worth approximately $26.1 million from Azerbaijan in 5 months.
Meanwhile, in the same period of last year, Iran’s imports from Azerbaijan stood at 8,950 tons worth $15.3 million.
During 5 months, Iran mainly imported equipment, compressed soybeans, various profiles, etc. from Azerbaijan.
Alone in the 5th month (July 23 through August 22, 2023), Iran imported 2,080 tons of goods worth approximately $3.46 million from Azerbaijan.
Overall, Iran imported 14.4 million tons of goods worth $24.2 billion within the first 5 months of the current Iranian year.
This is an increase of 7.49 percent in value and 2.17 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
