Azerbaijan, Baku, November 20 / Trend A.Badalova / Exporting Azerbaijani gas to the European Union remains a priority, considering that the market of the EU countries are the markets where the gas price is determined concretely on the market, a senior representative of SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) said.
The representative of the company said that the construction of a pipeline from Turkmenistan to China is an opportunity for Azerbaijan to get another alternative method of transportation.
"It is difficult to suppose how the Chinese market will be compared with the gas market of the EU countries by 2020-2025," said the representative of SOCAR. According to BP, the proven gas reserves in Azerbaijan at the beginning of 2009 amounted to 1.2 trillion cubic meters.
