The average price of North American crude on Jan. 3 amounted to $51.73 per barrel, or $1.32 less than on Dec. 30, 2016, a source on the Azerbaijani oil and gas market told Trend.
The spot price for US crude oil WTI (Cushing), produced in the US state of Texas, on Jan. 3 fell by $1.39 to stand at $52.36 per barrel. The density of WTI is 40 degrees API, sulfur content - 0.4-0.5 percent. This sort of oil is mainly used to produce gasoline and therefore the demand for it is high, particularly in the US and China.
The price of US crude oil WTS (Midland) was $51.44 per barrel on Jan. 3, or $1.24 less than the previous price.
The cost of LLS light oil amounted to $53.74 per barrel on Jan. 3, or $1.36 less than the previous figure.
The price of American Mars oil on Jan. 3 was $49.56 a barrel, or $1.19 less than the previous price.
The price of North American oil Bakken on Jan. 3 amounted to $51.56 per barrel, which is $1.39 less than the previous price.
The price of February futures for North American crude oil Nymex Light Sweet on Jan. 3 was $52.33 per barrel, or $1.39 less than the previous figure.
