BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept. 13
By Elnur Baghishov – Trend:
Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC) is currently busy storing gas for the upcoming winter, for supplying it to housing and industry sectors, Executive Director of the ICOFC, Ramin Hatami said, Trend reports citing company’s website.
According to Hatami, for this purpose, gas is being injected into the Shourijeh and Sarajeh gas storage facilities.
The director added that in total, 2.1 billion cubic meters of gas have been injected into the Shourijeh and Sarajeh gas storage facilities since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021).
“Meanwhile, in the last Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), about 3 billion cubic meters of gas were pumped into these two storage facilities,” he said.
Hatami noted that due to the possible deficit in gas consumption this year, certain steps are planned to be taken.
As reported, the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company has 84 oil and gas fields in 11 provinces of Iran. So far, 13 gas fields and 13 oil fields have been developed.
The ICOFC extracted a total of 63 million barrels of crude oil and gas condensate and 70 billion cubic meters of gas over the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020, through March 20, 2021).
