BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 6. The Iranian Oil Pipelines and Telecommunication Company (IOPTC) reported a saving of $815 million in the first 9 months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through December 21, 2023), Trend reports.

The company avoided using over 4 million oil tankers with a capacity of 25,000 liters each to transport crude oil and oil products for 9 months. This resulted in saving 1.3 billion liters of diesel production. Instead, the company used pipelines to deliver oil and oil products to various destinations such as oil refineries, warehouses and power plants.

The IOPFC distributed more than 102 billion liters of crude oil and oil products to different consumption points in Iran during the same period. This was a 4.5 percent increase from the previous year.

In total, 131 billion liters of crude oil and petroleum products were transported within Iran over the Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), which is an increase of 2.2 percent compared to the previous year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).

Iranian Oil Pipelines and Telecommunication Company transports crude oil and petroleum products to the country's oil refineries and consumption points through more than 14,000 kilometers of pipelines in the country.
