BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 20. Medical insurance, motor hull insurance and motor third-party liability insurance (MTPL) remain the most unprofitable insurance types in Azerbaijan, Trend reports citing the analysis of intersectoral financial flows of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
"These three types of insurance account for 80.6 percent of all losses in the sector according to the result of the first quarter of 2022, while 52.5 percent from January through June 2021," CBA said.
According to the CBA, the unprofitability of MTPL amounted to 89.8 percent (compared to 67.8 percent last year), and medical insurance - was 83.7 percent (compared to 72.6 percent last year). At the same time, the unprofitability for MTPL increased by 10.56 percent compared to the end of 2021 (79.24 percent), and medical insurance - by 6.6 percent (compared to 77.1 percent last year).
