BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 13. There was an eight percent increase from December 2023 to December 2024 in the number of Russian visitors visiting Azerbaijan, reaching 51,106.

The data obtained by Trend from the country's State Agency for Tourism shows that 47,347 tourists from Russia visited Azerbaijan in the same period last year.

Meanwhile, a total of 731,009 tourists from Russia visited Azerbaijan in the period from January through December last year, which is 17 percent higher than the figure of the same period of 2023 (625,106 people).

A staggering 2,626,838 foreigners visited Azerbaijan in the reporting period last year, which is 26 percent higher than the figure for the same period in 2023 (2,085,034).

The number of foreign citizens visiting Azerbaijan in 2023 was 2,086,548, which is more than 30.2 percent higher than the figure for 2022 (1,602,600), including 625,106 people from Russia, which is 39.9 percent higher than the figure for 2022 (446,831).

To note, a total of 4,218,781 Russian citizens visited Azerbaijan in 2017-2023 (853,082 in 2017, 878,391 in 2018, 932,198 in 2019, 225,214 in 2020, 257,959 in 2021, 446,831 in 2022, and 625,106 in 2023).
