BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 13. Remittance flows to Tajikistan decreased from January through May 2022, Trend reports citing the Asian Development Bank Outlook 2022 September update.
According to the Bank, the remittances to Tajikistan from January through May 2022 decreased by 10 percent over the same period in 2021.
"As a 10 percent fall in remittances in the first 5 months of 2022 relative to a year earlier slowed growth in retail trade from 17.1 percent to 9.3 percent and disruption to external trade cut transportation by 8.5 percent," the ADB reports.
Meanwhile, the ADB forecasts Tajikistan's GDP growth in 2022 will be 4 percent and 5 percent in the next year.
