TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, June 24. Uzbekistan manufactured textile products worth 30.3 trillion soums ($2.3 billion) from January through May 2024, Trend reports.
According to the data from Uzbekistan’s Statistics Agency, this figure has increased by 13.9 percent year-on-year (26.6 trillion soums, or $1.7 billion in January–May 2023).
The share of manufactured textile products in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 12.7 percent.
At the same time, the production volume of clothing in Uzbekistan reached 9.7 trillion soums ($768.2 million) during this period, which is more by percent compared to the same period last year (7.7 trillion soums, or $609.8 million in January–May 2023).
The share of clothing in the structure of the manufacturing industry reached 3.9 percent.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan exported textile products worth $1.28 billion from January through May 2024. This figure has increased by 0.79 percent year-on-year ($1.27 billion in January–May 2023).
The exported textile products accounted for 11.8 percent of the total volume of exports in the country.
