TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, December 18. The number of foreign tourists visiting Uzbekistan amounted to 7.2 million people from January through November.
Data obtained by Trend from Uzbekistan’s Statistics Agency shows that this indicator increased by 18.8 percent (1.1 million people) compared to the same period last year.
Amongst all the countries, Kyrgyzstan took the cake for having the lion's share of tourists who flocked to Uzbekistan during this period—a whopping 2.12 million people. Tajikistan came in second with 2.1 million people, followed by Kazakhstan (1.3 million people), Russia (741,200 people), and Turkmenistan (171,200 people).
The citizens of Türkiye (108,000 people), China (66,600 people), India (63,400 people), South Korea (39,100 people), and Afghanistan (38,000 people) also visited Uzbekistan during this period.
Notably, the tourist influx from Uzbekistan from January through September 2024 reached 5.7 million people, marking a 16.8 percent increase (825,800 people) compared to the same period in the previous year.
