TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, February 22. Uzbekistan welcomed 21,128 tourists from the UK in 2024.
The data obtained by Trend from Uzbekistan's Statistics Agency shows that this figure marked an increase of 4,963 people compared to 2023.
The main reasons for visits from the UK to Uzbekistan in 2024 were for travel: 17,583 came for leisure; 2,123 to visit relatives; 1,267 for business purposes; 82 for commercial purposes; 64 for educational purposes and 9 for medical treatment.
In 2024, Uzbekistan attracted 8.2 million foreign tourists, marking an increase of 1.8 million compared to 6.6 million visitors in 2023.
The largest groups of tourists were from neighboring countries, with citizens from Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Russia making up the majority of international visitors.
