TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, March 26. A total of 1.3 million foreign citizens visited Uzbekistan for tourism purposes from January through February 2025.
According to the data obtained by Trend from Uzbekistan's Statistics Committee, this marks a 37.1 percent increase (361,200 people) compared to the same period last year.
A good number of visitors hailed from the neighboring countries. Kyrgyzstan took the cake with 422,591 tourists, while Tajikistan was hot on its heels with 401,377 visitors. Kazakhstan came in third, bringing in a whopping 199,048 tourists, while Russia sent over 90,611 travelers to the mix.
Other notable tourist arrivals included 81,797 visitors from Afghanistan, 48,871 from Turkmenistan, and 22,520 from Türkiye. In the race among Asian countries, China took the cake with 14,062 tourists, followed closely by India with 10,326, and South Korea trailing behind with 5,292. Moreover, a whopping 38,810 travelers came through the door from all corners of the globe.
In 2024, Uzbekistan experienced a significant influx of 8.2
million international travelers, representing an uptick of 1.8
million from the 6.6 million arrivals recorded in 2023.
The predominant cohorts of travelers originated from adjacent
nations, with nationals from Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan,
and Russia constituting the preponderance of the international
visitor demographic.
