The Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and National Security announced that another CIA spy was arrested in Iran, Mehr News Agency reported.
The ministry didn't give further information about the arrested person. However, it was reported that the arrested person is originally from Iran, who had taken espionage education in several steps.
According to the report, the arrested person after arriving to the U.S Bagram base in Afghanistan was under supervision of Iran's Intelligence Ministry until leaving them and returning to Iran.
On May 21, Iran's Intelligence Ministry issued a statement saying that it had uncovered and dismantled an espionage and sabotage network and arrested 30 individuals suspected of spying for the United States.
The Intelligence Ministry also stated that 42 CIA operatives were identified in connection with the spy network.
According to the statement, the CIA operatives had gathered information from universities and scientific research centers and the nuclear energy, aerospace, defense, and biotechnology industries.
Tehran prosecutor Jafar Dolatabadi said on Dec.13 that Indictments has been issued on 15 people charged in spying for the CIA and Mosad.
