BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 7. The sales of products at the Iranian Energy Exchange decreased by 60 percent during the last Iranian week (from August 31 through September 5) compared to the previous week (from August 24 through 29), Trend reports via IRENEX.
The value of sales in Iran last week at Iran's Energy Exchange amounted to about 15.6 trillion rials (about $36.8 million).
During the past Iranian week, 52,800 tons of products worth 14.8 trillion rials (about $35 million) were sold on the domestic section of Iran's Energy Exchange. On the domestic section of the exchange, 36,000 tons of products worth 9.92 trillion rials (about $23.4 million) were sold. The international section of the exchange sold 16,800 tons of products worth 4.9 trillion rials (about $11.6 million).
Furthermore, 684 million kilowatt hours of electricity worth 880 billion rials (about $2 million) were sold at the Energy Exchange last week.
To note, the sale of hydrocarbon products on Iran's Energy Exchange is of great importance. Through the Energy Exchange, Iran is trying to meet the needs of local companies with hydrocarbon products, as well as increase exports.
