BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 8. The flow of tourists from Azerbaijan to Iran has decreased by 1.8 million people, Anoushirvan Mohseni Bandpei, Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts of Iran, told reporters, Trend reports.
He observed that the downturn was precipitated by an event
involving an Azerbaijani national within the Iranian territory.
Bandpey articulated that in the pre-pandemic epoch, spanning from
March 20, 2019, to March 20, 2020, the influx of international
tourists to Iran reached a substantial figure of 9.8 million
individuals.
The deputy minister articulated that these metrics elucidate how
the deficiency in sustainable security paradigms and a detrimental
perception tangibly influence the nation’s tourism sector
dynamics.
