In addition to Iran’s Damavand destroyer, the Dena destroyer is being equipped with a Vertical Launch System (VLS), said Commander of the Iranian Army’s Navy Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi, Trend reports referring to the Fars news agency.
Khanzadi said that rocket shelling using this system will be tested from one of the ships soon.
The commander added that the rockets fired from the system are designed to counter low and medium-altitude aircraft carrying both cruise missiles and anti-ship missiles.
Khanzadi noted that all ships of the Iranian Navy will be equipped with VLS.
The Vertical Launch System is a system installed on ships and submarines for launching various missiles.
