Turkey sees rise in number of incoming Israeli tourists

In June 2018, 32,086 Israeli tourists visited Turkey, which is by 1.24 percent more compared to June 2017, the Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry told Trend on Aug. 29.

Israeli citizens accounted for 0.71 percent of the total number of foreigners, who visited Turkey in June 2018 compared to 0.91 percent in June 2017.

"Over the past three years (2016, 2017, 2018), 76,012 Israeli citizens visited Turkey in June," the ministry said.

In June 2018, a total of 5,091,496 tourists visited Turkey, which is 28.49 percent more than in June 2017.

During the above-mentioned period, 1,933,899 tourists, accounting for 42.92 percent of the total number of tourists, visited the Turkish province of Antalya.

In June 2018, 1,100,389 tourists, accounting for 24.42 percent of the total number of tourists, visited Istanbul.

Some 451,699 tourists from Germany, 306,647 - from the UK, 241,095 - from Ukraine and 210,989 tourists from Bulgaria visited Turkey in June 2018, and 3,881,066 tourists who visited Turkey in June 2018, fall to the share of other countries.

As of January-June 2018, 15,968,001 tourists visited Turkey, which is 30.36 percent more than in 1H2017.
