Number of visitors from EU countries to Georgia remains very low

The number of international visitors to Georgia in February 2021 is extremely low, Trend reports via the February review of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).

According to the NBG, international visitors from the region to Georgia have mostly reduced from Azerbaijan. The decrease equals 95.8 percent.

International visitors from Armenia decreased by 89.9 percent and from Russia by 94.4 percent.

According to the NBG, the number of visitors from EU countries is still very low, which was reflected in the overall decrease of 5.8 percentage points.

Top 10 countries from which visits were made to Georgia in February 2021:

1 Turkey - 15,983 visitors, a decrease of 75 percent;
2 Georgia (non-resident) - 5,760 visitors, a decrease of 84.4 percent;
3 Azerbaijan - 3,950 visitors, a decrease of 95.8 percent;
4 Russia - 2925 visitors, a decrease of 94.4 percent;
5 Uzbekistan - 1,256 visitors, a decrease of 13.8 percent;
6 Ukraine - 1,074 visitors, a decrease of 90.7 percent;
7 Kazakhstan - 443 visitors, a decrease of 83.6 percent;
8 Belarus - 408 visitors, a decrease of 86.2 percent;
9 Iran - 347 visitors, a decrease of 95 percent;
10 Tajikistan - 343 visitors, a decrease of 42.8 percent.
