Fuel prices increase in Kazakhstan

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 19. Gasoline prices in Kazakhstan increased by 13.6 percent over the year at the end of March 2024, Trend reports, citing the Energyprom monitoring agency.

At the same time, diesel fuel prices increased by 15.1 percent over the year.

Regionally, gasoline prices rose most noticeably in Almaty (by 15.5 percent per year), Karaganda region (by 14.2 percent), and Atyrau region and Astana city (by 14.1 percent). The smallest annual price increase was recorded in Shymkent - by 11.2 percent.

In addition, diesel fuel rose in price the most in Almaty (by 28.3 percent), as well as in the Kyzylorda (by 27.6 percent) and Jambyl (by 24.8 percent) regions. The smallest price increase was noted in the Atyrau region - by 1.1 percent per year. At the same time, in a number of regions - in Akmola, Aktobe, East Kazakhstan, and Kostanay - prices have decreased.

Earlier, it became known that Kazakhstan plans to increase fuel prices for foreign citizens. Thus, for citizens of foreign countries, the price of RON-92 and RON-93 gasoline will be set at 245 tenge ($0.54) per liter.

Moreover, the price of diesel fuel (summer or off-season) for foreign citizens will be 315 tenge ($0.69) per liter.
