BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 29. Kyrgyzstan imported 24,616 passenger cars from South Korea from January through August 2024, which is 26.3 percent less than the same period in 2023 (33,398 vehicles), Trend reports.
According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the value of these imports reached $172.010 million, decreasing by 39.5 percent compared to $284.256 million during the same period last year.
Overall, Kyrgyzstan imported 91,481 passenger cars from January through August 2024, which is a 3.9 percent increase from 88,020 vehicles in the same period of 2023. The total value of these imports amounted to $1.293 billion, which is a 6.2 percent decrease compared to $1.378 billion in the previous year.
Kyrgyzstan's trade turnover amounted to $10.6 billion from January through August 2024, which is a 9 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023. Exports rose by 13.1 percent year-on-year, totaling $2.1 billion. Meanwhile, imports increased by 8.1 percent to $8.5 billion.
