BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 9. Turkmenistan exported 742.3 million kilowatt-hours of electricity to Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Afghanistan in January 2023, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.

According to the information, from this volume of exports, 509.4 million kilowatt-hours of electricity were sent to Uzbekistan, 91 million kilowatt hours to Kyrgyzstan, and 142 million kilowatt hours to Afghanistan.

A significant part of the exported electricity was generated by the Lebap and Watan power stations and the Seydi Thermal Power Station.

Turkmenistan is actively integrating into the unified energy system of Central Asia.

It is expected that by 2025, the country will increase electricity exports by 8.7 percent, which the construction of new power plants, power lines, modern transformer substations, and distribution facilities will facilitate.
