TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 26. Uzbekistan exported 1.3 million tons of fruits and vegetables worth $922.8 million from January through August 2024.
The data obtained by Trend from the country's Statistics Agency showed that this figure increased by 8.3 percent compared to the same period last year (1.2 million tons from January through August 2023).
Russia became the largest importer of agricultural products from Uzbekistan, with a total volume of 544,900 tons worth $407 million. Pakistan ranked second with 98,000 tons of exports worth $140.3 million, followed by Kazakhstan with 406,800 tons of products worth $135 million from January through August 2024.
Exports of horticultural products accounted for 5.3 percent of Uzbekistan's total exports.
Moreover, the country exported 1.2 million tons of fruits and vegetables worth $607.3 million from January through July 2024. This figure shows an increase of 9 percent compared to the same period last year (1.1 million tons from January through July 2023).
Exports of fruit and vegetable products accounted for 5.4 percent of Uzbekistan's total exports.
