TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, February 8. In 2024, a total of 11.9 million tons of vegetables were grown across all categories of farms in Uzbekistan.
According to the data obtained by Trend from Uzbekistan's Statistics Committee, the farmer enterprises harvested 4.4 million tons, dehkan and subsidiary farms - 6.9 million tons, and organizations engaged in agricultural activities contributed 563,900 tons.
Meanwhile, the volume of agricultural production in Uzbekistan reached 444.6 trillion soums ($34.2 billion) in 2024. This included 218.8 trillion soums ($16.8 billion) in crop production (up by 2.2 percent) and 225.8 trillion soums ($17.4 billion) in livestock production (up by 4 percent).
Among the regions, significant agricultural production volumes were recorded in Samarkand (55.2 trillion soums, or $4.2 billion), Andijan (44.4 trillion soums, or $3.4 billion), and Kashkadarya (42.7 trillion soums, or $3.2 billion) regions. In contrast, lower volumes were observed in Syrdarya (14.5 trillion soums, or $1.1 billion), Karakalpakstan (16.7 trillion soums, or $1.2 billion), and Navoi (20.2 trillion soums, or $1.5 billion) regions.
At the same time, Uzbekistan exported 2.03 million tons of fruits and vegetables worth $1.54 billion in 2024. This figure increased by 16 percent compared to the same period last year (1.75 million tons in 2023).
