The Egyptian stock exchange reopening has been postponed again from Tuesday until Sunday, following a month-long closure due to political unrest in the country, local TV reported.
Although the country's financial regulators announced that measures will be taken to support the market and reduce sharp changes in share prices, steep declines are expected when trading resumes, dpa reported.
There has been no trading since January 30, after the benchmark EGX30 index lost 17 per cent in its last week of trading amid the brewing turmoil.
The 18 days of unrest eventually forced President Hosny Mubarak to step down on February 11.
