The volume of transshipment of goods through the Turkish port of Botas made up 660,346 tons in January 2021, Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend on Mar.9.
According to the ministry, in the reporting month, the volume of cargo shipment through Port of Botas by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 58,961 tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 601,346 tons.
Meanwhile, over 4.04 million tons of goods were transited via the mentioned port, said the ministry.
In January 2021, the volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey amounted to over 29.1 million tons, including more than 2.5 million tons by ships flying the Turkish flag.
During the reporting month, 6.04 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey.
Besides, according to the ministry, in 2020, the volume of cargo movement through the Turkish ports amounted to 365.4 million tons. Some 29.6 million tons of cargo were handled by ships flying the Turkish flag, and 335.7 million tons – by ships flying the flags of other countries.
Over the past year, more than 72.4 million tons of cargo had been transited through the ports of Turkey, added the ministry.
