Azerbaijan, Baku, 14 July /corr. Trend T.Jafarov/ Foreign Minister of Iran, Manouchehr Mottaki, stated that the security, stability, development of Azerbaijan is the development and stability of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mottaki said during his meeting with the Chairman of High Assembly of Nakchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan, Vasif Talibov, in Tehran on 14 July.
IRNA reports that highlighting the general religion, history and the mutual cultural contributions of the two friendly and fraternal peoples, Mottaki stated that these contributions are important basis for the development of bilateral relations. "We do not know obstacles in the development of relations with Azerbaijan, and we believe that on the basis of potential for the development of agricultural, energy, commercial and economic ties, these relations can even more be enlarged," Mottaki said.
Mottaki stated that the Islamic Republic of Iranian was prepared to export gas of the countries of Central Asia, including Azerbaijan, through the Persian Gulf. The meeting also focused questions of simplification in the movements, development of tourism between two countries, education of the Azerbaijan students in Iran, realization of some programs, including construction of bridge of Julfa-Julfa, power station Ordubad.
Talibov said that the relations between the two countries are developing, and the agreements are being fulfilled, which were reached during the visit of the President of Iran to Baku. He stated that over the first six months of year, 80,000 tourists traveled from Iran to Azerbaijan, and 72,000 people from Azerbaijan to Iran. He added that Azerbaijan was prepared to liquidate the visa regime between the two countries. On 14 July the Chairman of the High Council of Nakhchivan met with the Chief Executive Power of East Azerbaijan Region of Iran, Mohammed Memarzade. The sides noted the need of expanding the relations between Tabriz and Nakhchivan in the sphere of science, trade and industry.
