Azerbaijan, Baku, 28 July / Trend corr. S.Agayeva/ Azerbaijan's ruling party believes there is a necessity to upgrade the opposition field in the country. "There are opposition organizations in Azerbaijan, which embody democratic character of the state development. It is another issue that these opposition organizations cannot put real and constructive problems to a public discussion and initiate a real and interesting opposition alternative," Elnur Aslanov, head of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration's Political Analysis and Information Department, said to Trend . "They are bounded to some extend with interior squabbles, and unfortunately they cannot or do not want to exceed the bounds of pathological envy to one another," Aslanov said. They lose the time on clarification of interrelations inside the opposition organizations instead of intensification of activities before the presidential elections, thinking what they will offer to the public and which alternative of social and economic or political course to set off against the ruling party, the head of the Department said. According to Aslanov, that once more proves the need to upgrade the opposition field in the country. "The situation considerably impedes development political institutions in Azerbaijan. If we need development and improvement of political institutions and democratic traditions, an important role belongs to the opposition," Aslanov said. The Azerbaijani society needs political organizations reflecting a concrete social order, not those organizations which traditionally operate in the political field, since formerly they used to participate in the national movement, he said. The public needs upgraded persons and interesting ideas, which unfortunately are not observed in some opposition parties. Therefore, they should free the way for others," Aslanov said. A total of 52 political parties have been registered in Azerbaijan, with 12 of them represented in the parliament. |
