Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 11 / Trend / The U.S. President George Bush expressed gratitude to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for the support that Azerbaijani troops render to multinational forces in Iraq.
"The willingness of the Azerbaijani people to support the establishment and strengthening of a democratic government in Iraq, despite great hardships, testifies to their strong spirit," the AzerTag state information agency reported.
Bush said that Azerbaijanis can be proud of its participation in the successful operation to help Iraq secure its freedom. "The United States looks forward to pursuing further cooperation with Azerbaijan on other common interests around the world," Bush said.
