The OSCE Baku Office has organized a two-day workshop for Azerbaijani and Turkish customs officers.

The workshop is underway at the Sadarak-Diluju check point on the Azerbaijani-Turkish border, the office said. The workshop will ensure the free, legal and safe passage of both citizens and cargo.

"This workshop is a good chance to increase trust between the relevant agencies of Azerbaijan and Turkey," Baku OSCE Office acting head Alexis Shahtantinski said.

He added that he hopes that the workshop will increase the experience of the two countries' customs, border and police officers.

Azerbaijani and Turkish officers will be taught to hold interrogations, combat human trafficking and uncover narcotics and false documents.

The OSCE Baku Office organized a workshop together with the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry and Turkish Consulate General in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

The workshop was held on the border for the first time.

The OSCE has conducted workshops on check points on the Azerbaijani-Georgian border over the past two years.
