The U.S regards Georgia's integration into the NATO as priority and is ready to help Georgia in developing special programs, U.S. Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Vershbow said before the meeting of the Georgian-American working group on security issues in Tbilisi on Oct.20.
The Georgian-American working group on security issues was established under the Georgian-American charter on strategic partnership and the meeting takes place behind the closed doors.
"Georgia's forward movement towards the NATO is very important for us and we are ready to develop a special program to achieve this goal," Vershbow said.
According to Vershbow, the U.S. reaffirmed that the U.S is a strong ally of Georgia on the way of political sovereignty and economic development. "We reaffirm our support for the territorial integrity and independence of Georgia," Deputy Defense Minister added.
