ASTANA, Kazakhstan, August 24. Kazatomprom, Kazakhstan's uranium producer, has adjusted its 2025 production plans amid supply uncertainties, Trend reports.

"Following the successful signing of long-term contracts, Kazatomprom initially planned to return to full production capacity by 2025. However, ongoing uncertainties about sulfuric acid supplies for 2025 and delays in construction at new sites have led to a need to adjust these plans. Despite these adjustments to the 2025 production plan, Kazatomprom remains committed to its 2025 sales contracts, upholding its strong 27-year reputation as a reliable uranium supplier," the company said.

At the same time, for the first half of the year, the company has reported excellent financial results, reflecting the strong fundamentals of the nuclear energy sector.

Revenue increased by 13 percent, and net profit rose by 27 percent to 283 billion tenge.

According to Kazatomprom, the forecast for uranium production for 2024 has been increased, while the costs are also rising. This is partly due to higher mineral extraction taxes and increased sulfuric acid costs, the producer explained.
