BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 4. Azerbaijan's total rice import expenses from January through November 2024 increased.
The data obtained by Trend from the country's State Customs Committee shows that this figure amounted to $62.7 million, up $16.4 million (35.3 percent) year on year.
Besides, the total volume of rice imported by Azerbaijan during the reporting period was 60,500 tons, which is 9,500 tons (18.6 percent) higher in volume compared to 11 months of 2023.
Meanwhile, the rice imports accounted for 0.33 percent of the country's total imports.
To note, Azerbaijan's total expenditure on food imports from January through November 2024 rose by 10.8 percent ($214 million) and amounted to $2.2 billion.
