BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 12. Azerbaijan’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) hit the ground running at 19.1 billion manat ($11.2 billion) in the early months of 2025, showing a modest uptick of 0.2 percent compared to the same stretch last year.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Statistics Committee indicates that the oil and gas sector took a hit, dropping by 2.7 percent, while the non-oil and gas sector managed to hold its own, climbing up by 1.7 percent.
The structure of GDP production showed that 38.5 percent was generated by the industrial sector, 10.1 percent from trade and vehicle repairs, 6.9 percent from transportation and warehousing, 4.6 percent from construction, 2.9 percent from agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, 2.5 percent from accommodation and public catering services, 1.9 percent from information and communication, and 22.0 percent from other sectors. Net taxes on production and imports accounted for 10.6 percent of GDP.
The per capita GDP was recorded at 1,864 manat, equivalent to $1,096.
