BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 19. Trade transactions between Azerbaijan and Hungary reached $14.6 million from January through April 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Customs Committee indicates that this marks an increase of $1.6 million, or 11.7 percent, compared to the same period of 2024.
The proportion of Hungary in the aggregate trade turnover of Azerbaijan during this timeframe was quantified at 0.12 percent.
Furthermore, Azerbaijan's export portfolio to Hungary reached a valuation of $1.1 million, reflecting an increase of $299,000, equating to a year-on-year growth rate of 36.2 percent. The aggregate value of imports originating from Hungary reached $84.8 million, reflecting an uptick of $1.2 million, equating to a 10 percent escalation relative to the preceding fiscal year.
During the corresponding fiscal quarter, Azerbaijan's aggregate foreign trade turnover experienced a substantial uptick of 24.3 percent, culminating in a total of $12 billion.
The nation’s outbound trade experienced a robust uptick of 6.7 percent, translating to an increment of $401.75 million, culminating in a total of $6.4 billion. Conversely, inbound trade surged by a staggering 52.6 percent, equating to an escalation of $1.9 billion, reaching a total of $5.7 billion.
Consequently, Azerbaijan recorded a trade surplus amounting to $722.9 million, reflecting a decrement of $1.5 billion or a reduction factor of 3.1 compared to the surplus observed during the corresponding period in the previous fiscal year.
