ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, July 3. Turkmenistan is showcasing its growing export potential at a major exhibition in Istanbul aimed at expanding trade and economic cooperation with Türkiye, Trend reports via the Тürkiye's Ministry of Trade.
The Turkmenistan Export Exhibition opened on July 2 at the Istanbul Exhibition Center and will run through July 5. Organized with the support of both governments, the event serves as a key platform for deepening bilateral ties, exchanging advanced technologies, and promoting industrial collaboration between the two countries.
At the opening ceremony, Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat emphasized the importance of the exhibition for enhancing commercial ties and achieving the target trade turnover of $5 billion. He noted that trade volume between the two countries rose by approximately 26.3 percent in the first half of 2025, reaching $2.2 billion. By the end of the year, it is expected to surpass $3 billion.
“We aim to ensure balanced, diverse, and sustainable trade,” Bolat stated, adding that the fair is envisioned to become a regular event. He also announced that a Turkish Export Fair will be held in Ashgabat on February 13–15, 2026.
Touching on energy cooperation, Bolat underscored the strategic significance of transporting Turkmen natural gas to European markets via Türkiye. He referred to the Memorandum of Understanding and Declaration of Intent signed on March 1, 2024, as key milestones in this partnership.
The exhibition presents a wide array of Turkmen exports, including industrial and agricultural machinery, spare parts, construction materials, electronics, consumer goods, and a diverse assortment of textile products.
